GOV.UK is not responsible for the provision of services and content by local authorities. Local authorities have independent responsibility in this area, however, we do encourage them to reuse GOV.UK design and code under the terms of the Open Government Licence.
The Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) also works with local councils to support their continuous improvements into all service provision, including digital services. In particular, MHCLG and The Government Digital Service co-launched the Local Digital Declaration in 2018 to support local authorities improve their approach to digital service provision.
